This sailing schools program is for Offshore Sailing School graduates who have taken a Fast Track to Cruising® or Bareboat Charter Cruising Course on a monohull and are planning to get into bareboat catamaran cruising.
BAREBOAT CRUISING REFRESHER WITH OSS 114 CATAMARAN BAREBOAT CRUISING ENDORSEMENT
This two and a half day course is available periodically on our Leopard 40 catamaran Legacy, based at the Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village in Southwest Florida. The catamaran sailing endorsement course runs Monday to Wednesday, or Thursday to Saturday with the first two days aboard from 9 am-5 pm, and the third day from 9 am-2:30 pm. A boxed lunch aboard is provided all three days. During this refresher course you stay ashore each night.
ABOUT THE CATAMARAN REFRESHER COURSE CURRICULUM
This course is a skills-based review that covers all or part of what is taught and learned in Offshore Sailing School’s Live Aboard Cruising and Bareboat Charter Certification courses. Your instructor will rapidly assess the confidence and skill level of all graduates in the course – through conversation, observation and stated needs or goals. With a maximum of four students per refresher course, this is a highly individualized program. All students will be asked to bring their logbook and the textbooks received in previous Offshore Sailing School cruising courses for our refresher catamaran sailing classes.

- Any Offshore Sailing School graduate who holds US Sailing Bareboat Cruising Certification on a monohull and wants to earn the Catamaran Endorsement; or any Offshore Sailing School graduate who holds US Sailing Bareboat Cruising Certification on a catamaran and wants to refresh their skills to prepare for a bareboat charter, or purchase of a cruising catamaran

WHEN TO ARRIVE, WHEN TO DEPART
Sessions start early each morning. If you opt for the Monday through Wednesday refresher schedule, you should arrive Sunday in time for check-in at The Westin anytime after 3 p.m. Check-out on Wednesday should be done prior to the start of your session that day. You may depart for home as soon as you return to the dock at Tarpon Point Marina. If you opt for the Thursday through Saturday refresher schedule, you should arrive Wednesday in time for check-in at the resort any time after 3 p.m. and may depart on Saturday after the course ends at 2:30 p.m. Of course, if you’d like to spend some extra days enjoying the resort and warm sunny Florida weather, we are happy to book extra nights for you. Since you are staying ashore in the evenings (this is a shore-based course), why not bring a friend or your family to enjoy all that the resort and the area has to offer while you are out sailing. A detailed course schedule will be sent with your confirmation. You are off the boat at 5 pm the first two days, so there’s plenty of time to scout out and enjoy local cuisine.
